Life without Cesc could actually be Fab
We are quickly approaching the half way point in the season and it is fair to say that Cesc Fabregas has not exactly set the Premier League alight so far this season. Now, you Arsenal fans are probably livid with that statement, but come on! Has the Spanish international impressed like he has done before?
There is no doubt that Cesc is an unbelievable player, but it seems to me as if Jack Wilshere and Samir Nasri have been the two outstanding players in midfield for the North London club so far this season.
Cesc has had a rather stop start opening half to the season and this has obviously proved detrimental to the player’s progress. However, in his absence have Arsenal fans realised that it might not be the be all and end all should Cesc find his future elsewhere?
With Cesc out of the team Samir Nasri has certainly stepped up the plate and is making a name for himself as one of the Premier League’s most talented attacking midfielders. It would certainly seem that the more freedom the young Frenchman gets the more he becomes a total footballer. Is he a suitable suitor to Cesc’s crown?
Then there is the young Jack Wilshere, arguably England’s biggest talent at this moment in time. Wilshere has enjoyed a prolonged period in the Arsenal starting XI with Cesc missing from the fold, and the starlet has not failed in proving his pedigree and talent. Now, I seem to have come to the same conclusion again, how can Wilshere mature as a player and reach his potential if he looses his place in the team once Cesc is fit?
It is easy to expect too much from Nasri and Wilshere, yet with the way these two are playing it is hard not to get carried away. Furthermore, while the two youngsters have a lot to learn, I believe that if they are both to become the players that Arsene Wenger knows they can be, then it will only come to be once the midfield maestro of Cesc Fabregas leaves the club.
